There are two major industry pain points in the transportation and pressure regulation of natural gas pipeline networks for a long time: after long-distance transmission of high-pressure natural gas, it needs to be significantly reduced in pressure to adapt to downstream users, and massive pressure can be wasted through pressure regulating valves; Traditional pressure regulation relies on gas and electric heating for reheating, which not only consumes additional energy but also generates carbon emissions, and faces the risk of pipeline icing and blockage in winter. Now, the world's first zero carbon reheating natural gas pressure differential generator set has been officially put into operation in Qufu, Shandong, completely breaking this dilemma. Long distance natural gas pipeline transportation requires maintaining high pressure to overcome frictional resistance and increase transmission flow. However, after reaching the terminal station, downstream users use air pressure much lower than the transmission pressure and must undergo depressurization treatment. For a long time, the industry has commonly used pressure regulating valves to throttle and reduce pressure, directly dissipating valuable pressure energy for free. The amount of wasted energy is astonishing, but it has never been effectively utilized. At the same time, during the process of natural gas throttling and pressure reduction, the temperature drops sharply, which can easily cause pipeline and valve icing and blockage in winter, affecting gas supply safety. Traditional solutions rely on natural gas combustion or electric heating for reheating, which not only increases the operating costs of the station, but also generates additional carbon emissions, violating the dual carbon development goal and raising the energy consumption index of the station.
